Pantone Colour of the Year 2015 – Marsala

So the new year is upon us and many of you are already turning your minds to re-decorating for spring or freshening up your home with a new colour scheme for 2015. Pantone have announced their colour of the year for 2015 as Marsala 18-1438.

Pantone_Color_of_the_Year_Marsala_Color_Intelligence_BannerIt seems we are certainly seeing a shift towards warmer tones for interiors in 2015. In a similar fashion Akzo Nobel’s Colour Futures team otherwise known as Dulux have heralded a warm red tone too, naming their 2015 colour of the year as Copper Orange

We thought we’d highlight how well both of these colours compliment our Parasol Parade wallpaper which features Victorian ladies and vintage perambulators on a beautiful pearlescent finish! The design features a palette of warm nude, ‘copper’, ‘marsala’ and sepia tones so all of our lucky customers can rest easy knowing that their nursery decor is bang on trend, phew – what a relief! (jokes!)

Lovely Lisa Congdon Art!

Although her name is familiar to me, I’ve never actually taken a good look at this talented girl’s portfolio. The American artist and illustrator has such a huge array of bright and cheery drawings paintings collages and patterns to pour over. Her work is so uplifting, here are some of my favourites….

In Love With Ruben!

I just had to share with you all my new found love, the work of an artist I’ve been following for some time, Ruben Ireland.
I first his discovered his surreal and somewhat disturbing paintings over at Society6 ( where you can find a wealth of original, affordable art in the form of handy household items) whilst in search of a more “interesting” ipad cover than what was on offer in Currys, and have been hooked ever since.

This is surrealism, digital collage and painting at its finest. I only hope I have the pleasure of owning one before the year is out (take heed husband!) and it would have to be a really BIG print, because the quality and detail of his work is so awe inspiring it needs to be noticed! (An iphone cover would not suffice, but I wouldn’t turn it down!) My bedroom walls are crying out for Ruben Ireland!
