Liberty London Christmas Displays

Liberty is by far the best department store in Britain, so a fitting place to start with my Christmas displays blog diary. They have converted almost half of the entire top floor into a christmas one-stop wonderland which twinkles under a net of fairy lights. Here are my snapshots.

The decorations section had a beautiful collection of animals carrying on the woodland theme I found at Fortnum and Mason earlier. Bark, natural wood, bristles and feathers were all popular materials here.

White white and more white, seaming to be a big trend this year!! Liberty have updated it with soft metallics and layering of shades of white. Let it snow!

Finally I just loved this collection of festive wreaths in the shape of hearts – very inspiring! I made some of these last Christmas and they smelled beautiful. I like the way Liberty’s versions are extra chunky and crammed with dried fruit. Gorgeous!

Fortnum and Mason Autumn displays

On a fleeting business trip to London this week, I just had time for a quick peek in my favourite British food emporium on Piccadilly. Their iconic window displays are always a treat, and this season encapsulating an enchanted forest theme, with mushrooms, owls and trees and moss. I apologise for the poor quality of these shots, which are just from my camera phone, its difficult to dodge the rushing pedestrians and steal a quick pic in the crazy rush hour traffic!

Fortnum and Mason Windows

The in-store displays within the confectionary department gave Halloween a new glamourous edge and just made me desperate to deck the halls with skulls and dried out moss this year!

Halloween Glam

Glitzy Skulls

I absolutely loved these chocolate grim reapers and chocolate cauldrons full of frogs, GENIUS!

This post is the beginning of a new category focusing on inspiring visual merchandising. Im going to following it up with more beautiful store displays from all the best shops and retail spaces in the UK. Watch this space….
